Overview

The Times Square Alliance asked GZ&A to create refreshed branding and multi-channel messaging to expand the appeal of one of the most iconic spaces in the world and to showcase the wide array of cultural, entertainment, retail, and culinary options Times Square offers for New Yorkers and visitors from around the world.

Strategy

We conducted an analysis of Times Square’s existing brand and researched audience insights to identify target audiences and their preferred channels of communication. GZ&A then developed new core messaging, updated branding, and high-level talking points to guide refreshed marketing materials. We also provided strategic advice for social media and public relations to integrate the new messaging and identity into all Alliance communications efforts.

Results

GZ&A’s efforts were showcased at the Times Square Alliance’s Annual Public Meeting and through the organization’s widely targeted marketing and communications. Our strategic advice helped the Alliance improve its social media practices and enhance its public relations and event publicity planning to efficiently reach target audiences and effectively tell the story of the new and vibrant Times Square.
