Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema was founded in 2015 with a commitment to increase diversity and accessibility in the film industry. Leading up to graduating its inaugural class in 2018, Feirstein sought increased awareness of its brand and the powerful work being done by its students.
GZ&A crafted an integrated public relations, marketing, and social media campaign that identified and promoted Feirstein’s robust offerings, including celebrity leadership, student work, purpose-built facilities, and a scriptwriting contest hosted by Feirstein and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. We also helped create, plan, and coordinate the first-ever Feirstein Film Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music to showcase the work of Feirstein’s graduating class.
Our public relations efforts elevated Feirstein’s brand, resulting in coverage in publications including the New York Times, Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Deadline, Filmmaker, CRAIN’s New York Business, Worth, Vibe, Remezcla, and Nofilmschool. Under our management, Feirstein’s social media presence grew steadily, garnering hundreds of thousands of impressions. The 2018 Feirstein Film Festival was a success, with students, celebrities, and New York City officials in attendance to celebrate and recognize the school’s first graduating class.
